![]() | What a stupid question, obviously it depends on the domain, how generic, length, etc.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Domain Trader Rating: (100% / 14) | It's not stupid at all, behave yourself. It's a question. I'm looking for a solid string of sales today all day, I don't care about length, generic / top keyword at all, put it this way they're all pretty much a match for businesses I will be contacting, therefore at the right price they will just buy, so I'm asking (more elaborately this time) what's the general business view on the cost of a resale domain when all other extensions are taken? I'm thinking minimum would be £150 and that £400 to £500 would be pushing it, so £250 and £300 might be a better aim. Excuse the abruptness, I've just got in from jogging 3 miles, time for a bath. However before I go, if I can shift 40 domains at £150 today I'd be chuffed but it would be preferable that I could sell them on and the business would be happy with £400 at first contact and shifting 10 instead then I'd be delighted. |

![]() | If it's any help, I seem to have more success selling domains when they point to a single page just for that domain, rather than all domains pointing to a page listing all the domains for sale. For example, all my domains used to point to the "Domains For Sale" page as in my signature below, now they all point to a dynamic for sale page, i.e. filmed.co.uk, I just seem to get more offers this way.

I may do a few pages before I call so good idea that, I was thinking of doing something so they can instantly see who I am if they have internet access as I'm not waiting for thirty day terms, I would need to be paid this week if they want the domain. |

![]() | No company is going to pay you this week unless they are a 1 man band and the fella that answers the phone also controls the cheque book. You have no hope of seeing the cash within 14 days. Last edited by firestars; 08-08-2006 at 11:53 AM. |

![]() | Lee, I admire your optimism. Although I would love to see someone shifting 40 domains a day over the phone I just don't think it's feasible. Even if you have the gift of the gab and can convince the person you aren't a scammer and that they have to have the domain then it's going to take more than a day to get them to agree; and pay. Everything has a sales cycle and personally I don't think the sales cycle on a domain is that short going from what we hear on the board here. You're right with the tactic of going in low, this certainly works for those wishing to stack them high and sell them cheap, see the amount of sold domains on fcdomains. However, I think you would have to go extremely low to get a one day sign off. |

![]() | Lee, you need to plan a little further ahead than just the next 24 hour window of opportunity. Be a little more strategic. |

I had a list of 30 odd but that was 2am this morning, I tried selling tangs to china the other week, the conversation was a bit short. "do you speak English?" - well they called me first haha So yes started with 30, only dealt with two so far, two faxes, made a couple of calls, no answer and one a chinese restaurant, call back in 20 mins. Next step is writing. |
