Hyphented .com or .net?

I've never been able to decide!

Personally I'd opt for the .net (unless there is strong evidence a hyphenated .com would rank better)

Just don't like hyphens.....

It really does depend on the domain name itself.

1 does it look/read out of place in .net . subject wise ?
2. how well and natural does the word string work with or without the hyphen ?

There are always occasions (very rare admittedly) when a hyphen isn't too much of hindrance in .com

The keywords are in the casino niche and both options cost the same. They're not cheap so want to make sure I get it right. I think the .net would work OK.

Has anyone got any thought on rankings hyphenated .coms as opposed to .net? I was under the understanding that hyphenated ranks the same an unhyphenated.

I think I'd go for the .net , but it'd probably be a close call for me. Just my take on it.

Like Marcoose I am in a semilar position I bought two domains one discovercountryname.org and the other discover-countryname.com and I am having problem deciding which to develop.

I am leaning towards the .org and use the .com to point the .org; what do you think?

I agree that in this instance the .org would probably serve you better, providing your target audience is a 'Global' one.

.org for global information related sites, works quite well - and geographical names certainly won't suffer from the .org extension.

slightly different ball game if your building it for a predominately UK based audience though (just a perception issue around .org)

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes bailey, my target is global - you never know I might use the .com for the UK.
