Google Analytics; how good?

I get web stats from two sources and they both differ considerably:

Google Analytics
1&1 (host)

Which one would be the most reliable? If either!

The google stats rely on a javascript, so I would say this wouldn't track in all instances...

Google is in a different class to standard stats.

It may not log absolutely everything, but it does cut out the crap and gives you what you need to make important decisions.

If you are serious about extracting information about your website, google does the job.
