![]() | DRT major update 22/12/09
Anyone having any problems with this new version ? It throws a fair few .net frame work errors when checking most settings via a proxy. Managed to get it working and stay running, by not scanning for Google PR and various other fields. Luc, if you're reading this, have you had anyone else reporting problems ? thanks |

There's always glitches in major releases of software (IMO), personally I've found Luc an alright guy to deal with when I've needed to get in touch with him. Could you name a better prduct than DRT ? AVD is a lightweight joke in comparison, if there's something better out there I'm all ears. |

Urbanvilla, I'm not an evangelist for Luc or his DRT product, it was kind of a rhetorical question, as I'm pretty certain there isn't anything out there as good. Regards taking the piss / software quality, who doesn't when it comes to the quality of code releases. MS with there unlimited budget produce the sloppiest releases in existence, ie8 for example, half the internet ceased to work after that release, run it in compatibility mode and the half that was working stops working. Cpanel upgrades, VmWare upgrades, I could go on, all the same; in fact I dont know of any serious vendor who hasn't had major release f**k ups, so where does that leave the one man bands ? I dont get the feeling DRT has a team of programmers behind it. What's more I paid low three figures for it years ago, I don't pay for annual maintenance and it has for the most part done what it states it does (but for the odd bug now and again). I think the vitriol about the quality (or lack) of might be justified if it cost a fortune and you were paying annual maintenance fees which is normal for a lot of software, or there was an alternative product with superior quality at the same or lower price. |

The DRT author is a member here, Domain Research Tool I have always found him helpful in resolving issues. Admin

Luc, "Last Activity: 16-03-2008 12:52:45 AM". I recently done a bug report with no response. Since i have installed DRT on Windows 7 x64, i can not use file save as or file open more than once after i have opened the programme. I found a way round this by opening two sessions of DRT, very weird. Another problem i have just found, when scanning using the DAC it uses 2043 which is now the port for the delay DAC. Anyone know how to change to 3043? Looking through the config files cant seem to find it. Thanks, Darren. |
