Which Google URL do YOU use for LSV?

Google seem to be giving out different information for Local Exact Search Volume depending where you go.

I've seen three different sets of results today for the same keyword, one of which is a query via the Google API. The other two methods are here:

https://adwords.google.com/select/Ke...rceLegacy=true

and...

http://adwords.google.co.uk/o/Target...KEYWORD_IDEAS#

Which ones are you using guys and gals?

You would imagine the new to be better however, too many times I have seen this eg, local 49,000 and global 49,000

You can't beat the old one mate

Domain Trader Rating:

I prefer the old one, main reasons being that I hate change, and the new one doesn't work on Opera browser either.

The reason for the difference between these two is that the old tool gives you the previous months exacts, while the new tool gives you the average monthly exacts over the previous twelve months

If you have a mission critical need for the true exact, you need to ask the nice people at Google.

Unless you know someone, it could take you a few weeks, but worth it.

I'm not going to go into all the ins and outs, thats up to you.

But if you want results without things like searches from seo software, which take up loads as most of you will know, then its worth it.

We had a term that showed 185,000 exacts, but it seems that through just google.co.uk's actual website, it was just 25% of that. Probably why the share of uniques compared to exacts is so low.

Its not always 25% though, certain terms which are not very targetted by the thousands of seo softwre users scanning google serps with their software, get a much greater percentage.

I reckon you could prove this for yourself, say you search for a keyword phrase, every day for a month and 48 times a day, if you use auto seo software, you should see nearly 1500 exacts on a term that had none previously, all without visiting a web page owned by google???

Oh yes, old version

I use both the old and the new, depending on what I'm up to.

I started writing something to use the API, but there seemed a few too many hoops to jump through for me

Does anyone know of a service using the api where you can do bulk searches?

I know you can do up to 100 on the GKT but it throws up loads of unwanted keywords as well.

I think is happening big time on the claims/compensation terms. So many of the terms have similar search volumes - too weird.

I do agree that the less popular terms are probably more realistic.
