Can just keywords pull in trafic?

I'm just wondering the best way to get trafic without paying for it, are the use if good keywords ok to pull in traffic or does it need more than keywords?

Depends what you mean. If you build a decent 10+ page site with on-target, relevant target on a related domain name and then get a few incoming links, you should be able to start to build up some "free" traffic from the search engines. But it's a bit more involved than "use good keywords" - you actually have to plan out a site that makes sense, in terms of coverage of the topic, main pages, navigation structure, page titles and so forth.
