Short or Longer Domain Value (High Exacts)

Hi All,

Im just looking for your opinions on the values of two domains as follows and the difference in value of longer and shorter domain names even though the longer one has more searches.

Say for example you have the two following domain names :

Houses (co-uk) - which receives 14,800 exact searches a month
HousesforSale (co-uk) - which receives 135,000 exact searches a month

What do you think the difference in value would be and which domain would you prefer to own?

I'd prefer to have Houses.co.uk without a doubt due to it's brandability. HousesForSale doesn't sound right as a website name and high search figures (in this case) don't mean anything unless you can get it ranking well for those keywords, which I'm sure would be pretty hard.

Valuation - I'm guessing about high �xx,xxx for houses.co.uk; housesforsale.co.uk, maybe high �xxx, low �x,xxx.

Definitely prefer to own Houses.co.uk, wouldn't surprise me to see a six figure sale on that one (although 'homes' as a word would be even better and less limiting). The longer example I think would probably get mid-high �x,xxx.

Thanks for your estimates, i myself would much prefer to have the shorter houses domain, and would probably agree with a high xx,xxx figure with a mid to high x,xxx figure for housesforsale. Having the shorter domain allows you to create a website which wouldnt just limit it to selling houses.
