Triple Hyphens!

Just noted a FTR domain with 3 hyphens in it, with over 100K exacts.

Would you take it or leave it?!

If it's .co.uk and a term to make money out of I might

If it's very competitive and would take cash to get any of the 100k Market or it's long tail then i'd move on.

You may get a bit of profit resale based on the exacts but double hyphen will kill it

If you don't go for it PM to me if I take I'll drop a donation Acorn

I'd take it as long as competition wasn't too difficult Usually go for a lot lower searches than that though.

Will you develop it ?
I thought Google would penalize those names a bit.

google doesn't penalize hyphens from what i've seen. triple hyphen is a bit extreme but with those exacts its a cheap punt to take and see whether it can rank and generate some traffic.

As far as I know hyphens are only bad since they make the length of the domain longer (so an EMD without hyphens will rank easier) as well as making the domain harder to remember, especially if you're trying to build a brand.

What Jamie says is correct, for humans hyphens make the domain a pain, but Google doesn't penalise for hyphens and I have succeeded in bringing several hyphenated domains to the top. For SEO they're fine.

I suppose the issue is more likely to be the keywords and the competition you face from other sites. If you think you could realistically achieve a decent position then I'd go for it.

Google doesn't penalise any hyphens.

I have a three hyphen site in the top ten pages for (keyword Loans) and (keyword Loan) with 14 related low quality links and about 60 pages of content ranking well for smaller terms.

The talk of penalising and hyphens is a stupid as the people who say exact match domains have lost power.

But worth noting, hyphen domains don't get exact match benefit.

But it will have the benefit in the sense there are keywords in the domain, but not exact match benefit.
