![]() | Info re transfers etc may be useful to some. Transfers - a change of Registrar: The name of the Registrant should remain unchanged. The information in the Organisation field can never be changed by a Transfer. If the Registrant is an organisation, the Name field may be changed during a Transfer. If the Registrant is a natural person, the Name field may not be changed by a Transfer. Minor changes to the contact details of the Registrant are allowed, but it must still be clear that the Registrant is the same before and after the Transfer. A Registrar should not approve a Transfer on behalf of his Registrant, unless this is done by a duly signed fax, in which the Registrar clearly states he has the Registrant’s permission to act on his behalf. Trades - a change of Registrant: If the new and the old Registrants are two different legal persons, they should not have identical email addresses. If the email address(es) cannot be modified, the Trade should be confirmed by fax. If an organisation trades a domain name to a natural person and the e-mail address and address are the same for both Registrants, the organisation should confirm the trade by fax. The new Registrant has to meet the eligibility criteria, i.e. a valid contact address must be entered. A Registrar should not approve a Trade on behalf of his Registrant(s), unless this is done by a duly signed fax, in which the Registrar clearly states he has the Registrant’s permission to act on his behalf. Important: The template confirmation faxes are available on our website under the heading “How to get a .eu domain name,” in the sub-section “Transfers.” There you will also be able to find a comprehensive explanation of trades and transfers. The Name and Organisation fields always have to contain the correct information: The Name field should be populated by the name of a private person; except if the Registrant is an Organisation, then the field may be populated by a title or a department name. The Organisation field has to contain correct information: This field must be populated if the Registrant is an organisation. If the Registrant is a natural person, the Organisation field must be left empty. |

| Member | Thanks DG. If I register a domain under my EU citizen name, what will happen if I sell it to a company? They will be forced to keep my name on, not put their company name as registrant??? This is ridiculous, it can't be. Let me know guys if I got it right. Then I should register all .eu domains under my company name, if I want to sell them, so others can edit the information? Thanks for the info. |

![]() | Has anyone actually transfered an eu domain from 123-Reg to another registrar? |

| Member | Yes, I did. But I kept the exact same information. The process is simple, you receive a link from EURid, to accept the leave from the old registrar to the new one... I guess there were to many fraudulent transfers, that's why EURid changed the procedure with a fax. All you had to do is click the link and the domain was not yours anymore... |

![]() | Transfers between registrants: "confirm the transfer via the web interface." It says a faxed transfer is possible if not confirmed by Email. http://www.eurid.eu/en/general/howTo...Name/transfers Transfers between registrars: "Upon execution of a transfer command a new 12 month term is started for the "domain name. The new term will run from the end of the month in which the transfer was executed to the end of that same month the following year. A transfer fee will be charged to the new registrar." So you don't get a year added to the old expiry date ! no fair. Last edited by texidriver; 06-06-2006 at 10:50 PM. |
