| Founding Member | http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/new-do...tml#post404004 Bloke comes on with some nice names and asks what they are worth - surely that shouldnt be binned? There are existing and new mods, who frankly ought to use common sense and if someone is posting rubbish bin it, if not then leave it. You cannot automate common sense! Anon poll attached for agree with this, or disagree for the lazy |

Not too happy about my reply being deleted either if I'm honest. Maybe not bother putting input into this forum if it just gets binned. Acorn isn't very welcoming to New users is it? A big problem for the future of the forum in my opinion. I hope we don't lose that fella - some nice names there & he came across as a nice guy.

I have pointed him to this thread - but he appears to have fed back in the other one: i was up till 12.30 putting that lot on, only to have them removed without being told why first!, you have your Rules and Guidelines and if i've crossed them, them i should be warned, then maybe i could have copied & paste and save myself a bit of time after i had got to know a bit more about the site... how i can i have any imput into the Forum if i have nothing Posted to discuss!!....... He has a point! |

I personally don't think new members should have to wait 50 posts to post in the appraisal thread. I would like to see sales/appraisal threads limited to one every 24hrs/48hrs/week until they reach X amount of posts. Otherwise you get loads of guff posts to reach X amount or new users won't use the forum. |

A possible solution may be one similar to the premium domain sale section, where posts go to the mods to vote on whether a name is good enough to be included. We could have the same thing in operation in the appraisals section, where members with enough posts have their domains for appraisal added straight away, and those with under 50 posts have them reviewed before posting? |

Automating stuff to specific rulesets based off arbitrary figures does not appear to suit the nature of this community, after the 49th post does a tosser who posts crap names suddenly have good names? How about we all treat mods as adults and let them bin the obvious crap when it comes up - I mean if I can spot things with 5mins digging it cant be hard - and let the good stuff go? If that is beyond the realms of someone I would have to wonder why! |

Third voting option. Delete the appraisal section.

Heaving modding isn't the answer. Intelligent modding is. Development of the forum is also key with a more pro-active approach in order. Perhaps start this process by upgrading to the latest vBulletin release and move from there with new sections, paid advertising options for members, more exclusive membership options, etc, etc, list goes on........ | |
