When I post a name for sale I would be happy to see some banter in my sales thread, but I can see why it might cause problems and might get out of hand. In general, I feel it's a shame there can't be more banter about names being sold but I don't see an easy solution either. Rgds

I have seen a fair few prices which are unrealistically high on here. People can ask for these high prices if they want, it just means that they willl probably never sell their domains or release any value from them. Commenting on sales price isn't going to change that.

If you think about it, if you go to a shop and the price of an item looks ridiculous then you can say so and but on here you can't but then again what if a domain is worth 2k and someone else thinks nah it's only worth £300 that would cause trouble.

Posting in the thread would be the equivalent of standing in the middle of the shop 24-7 announcing to all the other customers that the item is overpriced - don't think it would take long to get thrown out! Grant | |

Whilst names premium or otherwise many do have unrealistic prices doesn’t the fact that the name is not selling already confer that too them..? Could it not also start tit for tat retaliations which doesn’t help anyone or the industry…? It could be argued that proportionately more people are ripped off buying non premium names £1 -3000 possibly spending a higher % of there income on worthless names…? You could assume someone buying a premium k + should be doing there own research/calculations and generally be more knowledgeable therefore less likely to be ripped off … It may help some with future calculations /valuing if all premium posters had to post a justification, figures used etc for there valuations… For many seeing the methods used in coming to a price would be more useful than someone just slating the price … A bonus of a model/formula for valuing the majority of domains (there are some already but not everyone accepts or knows them). Intern help selling to end users particularly small businesses if they could see a accepted standard/formula that all agree etc… Or if they overprice once flog them, twice cut of a hand, third time execute them in the public square.... |
