Our thread

Hi,

I created a thread in the Domain Parking section for our company so that users can get familiar.

It was deleted.

Any reasons for this?

Matt

Matt, did you request permission to create self-promoting threads? General rule of thumb is to PM Admin first I would have thought...

I didn't see your thread so maybe I have the wrong end of the stick. If so, my apologies.

No I have not requested permissions.

But considering there are just a few parking companies out there I didn't think we needed special permissions to do this.

Actually got PM messages from members that were interested with questions, but there is no more thread unfortunately.

Also, I advertise on most forums (paid banner ads, etc), and well...not the most welcomed here it seems.

You'll find the administration team here most accommodating. If you want to use the forum to promote your business, then I'd grab myself an exclusive membership and then ask politely. Just my opinion.

Hi Matt,

You may want to scan the forum rules over too, if you've not seen them - they may clarify for you.

You are the only forum that deleted my thread.

All parking companies have threads in one way or another on most forums, and we offer a value-added service. So members benefit from it. You should actually give it a try yourself if you park domains, I bet you'll do better on many names.

We are a small community, and we should all stick together. We all provide value added services to each other to grow each other out. Just like you provide a forum to your members.

What we did was not spam. It was an introductory thread to our service that did not take away from AcornDomains in any way.

The forum rules are pretty clear and simple to understand:

Quote:
No advertising. No promotion of domain related sites or other forums. No commercial domain related sites in avatars, usernames or signatures.
Quote:
Advertising
Advertising on this site is not free. If you wish to advertise your own website, products or services on AcornDomains.co.uk, please contact Admin first to agree terms otherwise your thread may be blanked or removed. We prohibit advertising of other Domain Name Forums or Domain related Commercial products or services without payment or prior agreement with Admin.
What other sites allow is up to them, maybe they are just to slack and allow any old spam/rubbish, Admin has rules in place, it's his forum and he runs it as he sees fit for the benefit of all.

Hmm, really? So is there any reason these guys have a thread still up that they started before us:

http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/genera...w-members.html

Same section and a service that apparently members are having issue with.

Please explain this.

I don't see your point, they had a thread up before you, and?

I can't comment as I'm not part of the Admin team, but perhaps they followed the rules of advertising on the forum and contacted Admin as requested in the rules, same for the second link you posted.

The specific part of the rules in case you missed it says:

Quote:
