Smile Services offered section ?

Just thought it might be a good idea for a "services offered" section, as the services wanted section seems to get a good few people offering their services their (myself included).

Cheers

My vote would be a no, as I'm not sure I could handle much more "services offered" spam, it's off-putting enough as it is

Maybe make it a forum where forum members can each only start one new thread a month, and combine that with a ban on offering services in any other forum. Would keep things nice, neat and tidy, and keep the clutter down as well!

Interesting idea. Or how about they can post one thread a month and then not repeatedly bump and "reply" to their own thread with "interesting" updates

From my perspective, when someone has offered a service or has claimed to have a skillset that they are selling on the forum, once is enough really, as I'm either interested or I'm not.

You mean an "Advertising" section? If your interested in pushing your services then contact Alan and I'm sure he would work out pricing for some advertising on here.

Very true, plus it would allow a focus point to identify requirements

I, like a lot of people here, use the "New Posts" function as my main way of browsing AD, so grouping all the services spam in one place wouldn't really help, as they'd still appear as new posts every time.

Given that one of the forum rules is "No advertising" I personally think it'd just be easier all round if people respected that, rather than trying to pretend that repeatedly pushing free ads onto forum members is a good thing.

Perhaps create an advertising forum which allows users to post up threads in exchange for a fixed fee donation to admin? If paid work is going to be gained from the forum then it seems only fair.

Agreed about the new posts feature though. Would be good if threads featured under any 'advertising' forum weren't included in this (or alternatively locking threads straight after posting could be an option, although wouldn't allow editing).

Great Idea, I would happily pay for that & i'm sure many other members here would.

Maybe an 'opt in' such as with the Adult Domains forum would be a good option.
