Acorn Auctions

Just needs a little tweaking and I could see this becoming a great venue. I'm looking at MexicanFood.org.uk on the front page and it indicates no bids or price etc. Yet when I click on it, it's £399 start.

Alan, if you could get this Acorn system a little more refined, I'd much rather list my domains here than on DL.

Hi Alan I put a couple in but the end time is when you approved them, could you change the end time to say 9PM rather then 07:37am and 07:38am. Maybe some way for us to set our own end time like on domainlore.

I always enter Acorn via http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/search.php?do=getdaily so I hardly go to the homepage (thus the running auctions). Out of sight out of mind.

Yes, I agree. I reckon Acorn could be a great auction venue with a little tweaking - yes, I've said it before...

I'm sure there are coders here who could sort this. I'm also sure there would be contributors to the cost. Count me in. Alan, why don't you pencil in a broad spec here and see what quotes come in?

Would be a real PITA with future upgrades if had to hack the files. I would suggest easy work around would be just to use use say phpmyadmin to goto the mysql DB table for the auctions and manually set a new end time for the auction.

Not ideal but easy enough.

I think it would be helpful if People posted exact things they would like to for example.

I think proxy biding would be useful not sure thats possible to get going I know the script isn't supported by the original programmer anymore.

Would you consider having the auction section as part of a different platform I was looking at a few wordpress auction plugin's the other day for I site I plan to develop.
To get the best functionality it would require a paid version but they weeny that expensive just need 4-5 members to throw in to cover the costs I be happy to make a donation if you were to go down this route.

There do appear to be a few vbulliten wp integration plugins so using existing forum memberships should possible.

The whole styling of the auction section would be a lot easier using wordpress theme system
