I thought that as well. I guess there's no way of knowing but it's most probably that.

It's a bit frustrating how long it's taking to get access to the FSB forum. I also would like to know how to delete duplicate products. You wouldn't have thought it would be possible to get duplicates but i'm getting them!!

From what i've seen so far i'd say it's a good system but my store isn't live yet so I haven't got any stats to back that up!

I do think it's a good system, albeit it still has some bugs and gremlins in it.

I've got a couple of sites up and running and a few more in development. I too find that I have way more 'checkouts' and 'Amazon Clicks Today' than actual successful transactions in my Amazon Associates account.

Just a couple of thoughts:
The Amazon Affiliates Program is great for 2 reasons:
  1. Amazon 'converts' better than pretty much every other program - because it is such a trusted brand and excellent user experience
  2. The additional basket purchases are often worth more than the item you've 'sold' - especially around Christmas time.

However the FSB negates these two by a) Having what appears to the user to be its own basket/checkout and b) by taking them straight to the Amazon checkout before they have an easy opportunity to add some different stuff to their basket.

I run a couple of other non-FSB affiliate sites, and I just need to send people to an Amazon product page and my job is done. I wonder if removing the checkout/basket altogether from a FSB site (one that people would only buy 1 item from - e.g. a bag, ladder, TV etc) and just having a 'View on Amazon' button would convert better and earn more? That way it would be more like a regular Affiliate site except it would still update price, availability etc automatically.

What do you think? Is there an obvious reason why that's a bad idea? It's a relatively easy customisation of the template so I might give it a go on one of the sites I'm developing.

You can do this already, its in one of the settings to just send them to amazon

I think you click on change parameters to change the way the checkout works.

Yes, I've confirmed that prob my end too.

Quick thoughts:

Have you got a CHMOD of 777 on the sitemap.xml?

Also, do you have the .htaccess file in the directory root?

PS: Check your other CHMOD directory settings.

Did you have a different website setup on this domain recently? Some of the links that come up from that query are not FSB links, e.g.

http://www.phonecases.org.uk/mobile-...34922911/1418/

Check that your sitemap.xml file has updated with FSB and if so, it should be a case of just waiting for Google to fully reindex your new site
