lets say i registered a domain, which contained the name
of a mobile phone manufacture, and i set up a mobile phone
affiliate page.

what do you think this mobile company would do if they came
across the site?

sue me
or just tell me to take the site down and tell me to hand over the domain.

It's not worth it in my opinion. Why put time and effort into a site when it could be taken from you at any time?

Better to pick a generic domain name, you can still SEO for brand names.

You will get a letter from a solicitor at some stage. In most cases you will just hand over the name, say sorry and promise not to register anything to do with them in the future, or you might be asked for costs or worse still be sued for passing off.

Best not to take the risk and follow Accelerator's advice.
