Having a strange experience with my insurer after a tiny incident (other party is claiming whiplash) fraudulently - however it seems the insurer is using some heavy handed techniques (private investigator) on me (despite me not claiming because there was no damage). So I'm looking for some good advice on this matter.

They might be assuming you know the other party and intend to "share" the claim.

Chances are they will have handed over the claim to a claims management company (the other party) and therefore your insurer will be looking to protect the amount they pay out. If they consider fraud then you are both under the spotlight (unfortunately).

Hmm, I just wonder if the insurer will try and wriggle out of things by saying for example that the insurance is not valid due to some technicality. I don't feel I can trust them at all.

Just out of curiosity how do you know there is a private investigator involved?
They're obviously not doing a very good job I should imagine.
