how to shut pc down at certain time of day?

hi

i have 2 xp machines i want to automatically shut down at a certain time of the day. can anyway reccomend the best method to do this, ie using task manager etc

as much as i know what you mean, but that way wont help the hard drives will it just by turning the power off

I want something that will shut down the computer correctly rather powering off (if you know what i mean)

There's a command line shutdown command (it might be in a resource kit, can't remember, I have Vista on this box).

Schedule this in your scheduled tasks and the box will shutdown as required.

There are many switches on the command line, so run a shutdown -? for all the options.
