My dad retired today

Sent them off to paris with some spending money.

Retired at 50 with nearly 30 years in the firebrigade. I could never do the job he did and the pay is well below what it should be, hope my mum and dad are having a good time!!

Im proud of him!

You are forced to retire after 30 years service.

My Grandad was a fireman, and luckily retired before the service suffered the sort of abuse it's experiencing now!

Is he into computers Mat? Does he know about fireservice.co.uk - quite a good site!

so why didn't you want to join then mat?,a guy i used to work with went into the firebrigade and he was astonished at how many applications there were for the post, the guy who interviewed him said there were 2,500 applicants so the chance of getting in are slim.
