Kiva lending

Just been on to Kiva to lend some funds I had been repaid, only to find just ONE funding request on the whole site! I know a few of you on here do the Kiva thing, but I was astounded to find only one proposition. Kiva and their field partners seems to be doing a good job -- no defaults on repayments to me as yet, not that it would break me.

in weird place so hard to type. Set up domaineraid.co.uk a while ago but still waiting on kiva to sort the group software to lock withdrawals. Thus not live

Aye, I lend on kiva too, never had any defaulted loans there.

I also lend on Zopa, which is for profit. Had a few defaulters there

Thanks guys for letting me know about this group

What a fantastic project and well worth the cause.
Kiva looks like a great chance to help other local commerce people out in poor locations.

At Kiva,

There is so much money chasing few entrepreneurs. The site is annoying as it caches and one often thinks I can fund and when I click...cannot. Pain!

Hopefully more loans will be on soon!

Why sponsor kiva? tax purposes, decent geezer or both?

As far as I know Lee it's one of those that is a genuine good cause, not one like the Red Cross etc where some plonk is pocketing �200,000 a year to run it

Plus it gives some people a good chance to make a business in the third world where they would have no chance of raising any cash for machines.

I'd treat it as a very good cause and if you get something back then happy days, but the money can make a huge huge difference to people.

Quite right! Its basically helping directly! You can see who you are directly helping and see what the recipient is going to do with the money. They all have a plan and are trying to hard to help themselves unlike a lot of wasters that we support in this country!
