I use BT Broadband at home, not had any problems with it, get the odd day when the connection drops repeatedly for whatever reason, possibly the hub updating whilst I'm using it, but it soon connects again.

Phone and Broadband bill combined is usually about £130 per quarter, we hardly use the phone at all, call costs are usually only about £5 - £7 per quarter at most.

I love it when BT or other telecom cold callers phone up offering great savings on calls, it's normally an Indian person calling, the conversation goes like this:

THEM: I am calling on behalf of blah blah blah, we can give you great savings on your phone calls, saving you £££.

ME: I don't use my phone much.

THEM: You can still save a lot of £££.

ME, Honestly, I don't use my phone much, so it's probably not worth it.

THEM: spiel, blah blah blah spiel.

ME, But I only spend £5 on phone calls.

THEM: That's fine, still save blah blah blah every day.

ME: No, I spend £5 per quarter on phone calls.

THEM: Goodbye or dialling tone

Hi

I found out that for just over that I can also get a TV package through Virgin. I use to use them before I moved in with the other half. She only has a 10G limit. I keep using 15g. To move up to 15g will be £20 odd pound a month. With the phone line it will be the same price as yours. So what limit on downloads do you have if you dont mind me asking?

I have just seen O2 (I though them and BT are the same) are charging only £9.79 (if you have an O2 phone) per month for unlimited downloads. I need to check thats what that means but to me that looks good.

I have also looked at mobile deals but some of those unlimited deals have a fair use policy of 5G. Seems strange they can call that unlimited.

I was with eclipse but they became very poor over the last 12 months.

Now with Fast.co.uk - who's owner has been known to pop up on Acorn!

Without looking, I can't remember if it's option 3 or 4 we have, we are on the unlimited (fair usage applies) bandwidth anyway, it used to have a 20GB limit before they changed their plans around and now it's unlimited, not that I use much of it, I don't download anything, no music or videos etc, just for basic browsing.

Mark.co.uk Baker.co.uk does have alot of good domains, and uses stuff like Slow.co.uk - Is your Internet Service Provider slow? to promote his Dark.co.uk enterprises which includes Fast.co.uk | The UK's highest rated ISP for Support & Customer Service | Home offerings

Thanks some interesting replies, I can go and use more bandwidth checking them all out

I do upload and download sites a few times a month and one or two TV shows. I also watch a lot of you tube clips. I forgot that they take up a lot of usage lol.

I guess until the end of May when the contract runs out I need to be online a lot less.
