Just looked through approx £500 of shrapnel to see if I had any. I found 7 20p's with the same design but they all had the date 2008 on them Worst thing was, I picked one up, turned it over and there was no date !! then I realised my finger was covering the little date ffs Nice if you can find one, selling upwards of £450 each on ebay now !

I might go down the arcade now with the £500 "What can I get you" "£500 of 20p's please"

Or you can turn it over for 50 quid to "The London Mint" and then they can flip it for 450 pounds. Nice little pseudo-scam they've got going. I say "pseudo" because as far as I can tell from their marketing material, they do plan to pay for the coins - they're just counting on the publicity to get people basically lining up around the block to:- A) Sign up for their marketing lists and B) Sell them coins at 10% of market value

I got a bit confused myself, either a scam company looking to buy them up for resale and profit and not 10,000 and more like 300 and rare or it's an official buy back which considering the product and that they're distinguishable, I doubt it. Keep the coin yourself, sell it for more.

When I first heard about this through word of mouth from friends they were under the impression that "The London Mint" were actualy the producers of the coin and doing some kind of recall. Its very misleading to the average joe.
