The checkout lady said she had to ID me if she was not certain I was over 25... I almost asked her to marry me

I got ID'd a while back. I am only in my 20s but I do look old plus a full beard (the kind a unix techie must grow).
But what is even better is I am a licensee so I have a pretty piece of paper which has my photo on and says Im licensed to sell alcohol, but apparently this isnt good enough to actually buy alcohol from a shop as its not on their 'list'. ffs...

I got ID'd at the age of 35 with a 2 week beard... I pity the kids with the bumfluff nowadays

My mate used to get served beer at 14 on the basis that he had a moustache

if you seen the girls the police use to try and catch shop keepers/ cashpoint operators out you would see why they have a 25 rule. A local kwik save had to close down because they lost their licence to sell alcohol as their were caught too many times by the police selling to underage people.

All they have to do is say, are you 18 or over? The kids working for the police can't lie!

I got 'caught' buying alcohol in an offie in solihull when i was 16 (i'm now 37). ended up in court giving evidence as the law tried to prosecute the off licence. They got away with it as it was agreed that me and my co-drinker looked over 18.

i'd be loading the trolley, wait to be asked for me age (well old enough by the way) and tell em I aint old enough then leave the lot on the conveyor for em put back. Bl00dy place gone PC and regulation mad

I've always looked younger than I am, but I have a very deep voice since I was 15.

On my 18th birthday I had to make a 10 mile round trip in a taxi to get my birth certificate, because the barmaid in the pub I had been drinking in since I was 16 asked me for proof of age. My mates were all laughing in the background so I know why that happened.
