For a while now if i try and donate to this site my paypal account say that my account is not able to send such large amounts

.....well it wont actually let me send anything? it says i need to verify my account - has anyone else done this?
I attempted to get them to phone me which "of course"

didnt work and now they want me to either set up and direct debit or send them a letter - neither which a wanted to do.
Has everyone here verified their accounts with paypal??

Verified accounts do not have sending and withdrawal limits.

Have you entered the information required:

"Steps to Verify Your Account
Set Up Direct Debit
Validate your account information
Supply merchant information"

telephone didn;t ring - so now need to send them a letter.

donating wasn;t a problem before???

Charlie,

Check this with PayPal but our understanding is that Pay Pal has an initial sending limit of up to the equivalent of $2000 USD (Approximately £1055) for people who have not confirmed their credit/debit card via Pay Pal's expanded use program. This is intended to mitigate any loss resulting from use of a stolen card for example.

You need to get verified before you will be able to send any more money or buy anything else.

they're going to send me a letter via snail mail which contains instructions on how to valiate - so waiting for a letter

Charlie,
All you need to do is follow the steps that Admin outlined above to get verified.

Verification simply means Paypal making two small debits from your account and then you verifying the amounts that they debited. So if you have online banking you can do this in short order.

yeah i understood the DD plan.

they're sending me a letter with a four digit code on - all i have to do is type it in when i get it

Sorry Charlie I didn't mean to be patronising. They must have tightened up the rules since I got my paypal account.

Mind you - that was a few years ago.
