I've never heard of that rage against the machine group, I think I read they were big in the 1980's or something, heard their song on the bbc the other day, right load of crap, it's just a noise and shouting.

Not a particular fan of them, however they have a decent history of activism Rage Against the Machine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for Jer Pet or noise... I prefer the shouting to autotune

It appears their may have been another con, both artists were on the Sony Label.

It's about that the conspiracy theorists are hitting the web to argue that it was all conspired by Sony, to start a little competition.

Best bet, keep your cash in your pocket.

Its too late anyway, as it stopped counting last night

The point was anti-xfactor rather than anti-corp or the like. Its very hard to distribute half a million copies of a record on or offline without touching corperate toes somewhere.

Conspiracy theorists are just that

Oh, and it made £60-70k in donations to shelter.

Yep I'm totally with you guys on it, hate the x-factor crop myself. Suppose good to see them get beat whatever the reason.

Should imagine they'll be back next year with all those that failed this years auditions.

I bought 'Killing In The Name' the first time around. Still an anthem for me today. Takes me back to my long haired, DM wearing uni days.

Cha-CHING!

I mentioned a while ago I bet both one xfac number 1 and not being number 1, after the various bets I laid on this, I'm not too much profit but including my xmas snow bets I'm break even over all now

All I need now is Snow Fall in Manchester on X-Mas Eve/Day and/or NYE/NYD and I'm going to to be rolling all the way to the bank (well not quite). Normally I Lay my bets shortly after xmas but given the current snow I recon bookies will be giving lower odds for next year so I'll wait for a hotter summer for them.

I may also change my bet to a Reality TV Show Act for Number 1 (if they will take that), as there are a few contenders now Cowel has been handed his balls on a plate.
