Anyone Else Using Spotify Free Music Service?

For anyone into their music like me, the Spotify.com free music service is amazing. Are many here using it?

Anyone want to recommend me some bands to listen to? (I like rock / guitar bands / indie / some hip hop / electro / break beats / quite a lot else too!)

I've been using it for a few months now. It's great. I think people need invites now, but when I signed up it was a temporary free for all. I have the free service, as opposed to the ad-free pay service.

I tend to listen to: r.e.m, semisonic, my vitriol, morrissey, new radicals, suede, dandy warhols, the strokes, underworld, travis, the cure...

I am using Spotify's paid version. At a tenner a month it's well worth it for ad's free music and being able listen on the iphone.

I've been using Kieron's ShareMyPlaylist which is a great way to find new music.

Personally the occasional ads don't bother me, but I can see why they would some people. I don't own an iphone, but I can certainly see the attraction of having access to such a vast quantity of music on the go. Does it work with other smartphones?

Spotify's available on iPhones and Android phones. Possibly others too.

The iPhone spotify app is pretty sleek! Allows for offline playing.

Offline playing, that's neat!! I have an HTC Touch II . It's not sold as an android phone unfortunately, but I believe that some people have installed android on the device (possibly a modded version). I'll look into it. It sounds like something that would be good to use when I'm out running.
