Google Keyword tool update

Wow, now that has certainly a change for the better, much more info on search terms and keywords.

Looks like another tool in helping to value names.

True, it is a nice tool - the switch happened for me about 20 minutes ago.

Only one major drawback, and it is a major one for domain assessment.

You can't shut off the suggested phrases in the new version like you could in the old tool, so if you try to assess a list of keywords from existing names then it throws in random suggestions that wreck the list.

Other than that it's great!

Does the tool itself look different, or only the results? Perhaps the update hasn't got to me yet, but I can't see any change...

Yep the tool / page looks different (more ajaxing), the data goes into much more details, such as trends over the last 12 months.

Good to see that a search trend isn't just a one off. Results looks similar to last months search results so probably not much different on that part from using January's data now instead of December's.

Have you tried playing with the 'contains' checkboxes on the bottom left? I've found this to be very helpful in filtering keywords.

This 'new' keyword tool has been out in beta for a while. Though glad to see it finally replacing the old one.
