Domainlore is great, if only all auctions could be done like domainlore, some I don't like on Acorn is placing bids on posts, then having to wait, sometimes days/weeks to see if its accepted, would be better to have rules when you add a name for sale, at least with domainlore you know exactly what time its going to end!

ones mans scrap is another gold and all that..

whats ironic is that there's £30 (ahem.. 'premium') names on domain lore not even getting a bid and 'i-have-regged-this-today-for-a-quick-pawn.co.uk' going on Acorn for £50 daily.. there must be a happy medium for us pipsqueaks

I like DL as it's straight to the point and bargains to be had. I'm not commenting on any individual names as that is between others and all people I get on with.

But I bet we only see a fraction of the names he turns down, when I was running DomainPawn all I got was i-have-regged-this-today-for-a-quick-pawn.co.uk

I had to shut it down for the amount of time it was taking to go through them all and discuss why I wasn't taking some on, then lose some good business friends on it.

I did get some good names but in all you would get 1 good name for every 100 reg fee ones. So i hope people understand it from Deny's point of view as well.

domainlore isn't exactly .org.uk friendly, so It's not at all surprising that some of the above names were rejected. Perhapsa seperate .org.uk auctions sectin there would make sense, but I do understand why they don't tend to feature many .org.uk auctins there.

Is that not because Denys himself is not a .org.uk type of guy, he doesn't have any as far as I know? I hope i'm not reading this wrong, but i dont think he rates them much to be honest, so it's no surprise he doesn't want to see them through his site. It's his site, if people don't like it, that's tough I suppose!

Having said that, there's just a handful of regulars who don't register .org.uk's these days, I think most people recognise that .org.uk's do have a value.

There has been at least 5-6 .org.uk's on DL as far as I can remember, desks, park, donate being the ones I have sold on there.

So they are allowed but as his rules say, they do have to be pretty decent.

Yes, I think they have to be very much premium quality, and preferably single words. donate.org.uk is a great name, perhaps evenas well suited to org.uk as .co.uk so I can see why that would get accepted.

Certainly, I own some myself. There are many .org.uk bargains to be had.

Tosh, tosh, tosh.

pipsqueaks was a guaranteed acceptance because there was a pre bid on it. I had nothing in my list that day so went for it and got it, knowing there was a guaranteed £30 for it, which I think is the point of the pre bids. It wasn't a name I wanted myself, but I'm happy with the sale andf I guess they buyer is as he got it for the pre bid.

From Domainlore site
"....You can place advanced bids on expiring domains here. If domain drops and someone catches it, they will see your bid as an indication of interest and so decide whether to bring auction to DomainLore. ....".

That makes sense, let's face it, if someone were to offer porn.org.uk through the site, it would be very difficult to turn it down. Come to think of it, porn.me.uk would have good value too!

Certainly. I can't see how porn.org.uk would be turned down. It'd be an exciting auction to see there.

If a name, which would normally be rejected, gets caught by someone using domaincatch (i think thats the right one?) does it still go to auction on dl?
