domain lore

All I ever get is inappropriate quality.

Have submitted :

WeightlossTablets.co.uk
Tattooists.org.uk
JohannesburgFlights.co.uk

Maybe they aren't brilliant, premium names, but then how do names such as

ladyofthelake / pipsqueaks (apolgies if theyre yours!)

get accepted ??

Tosh, tosh, tosh.

I think it shows there's a market for a site that does similar but lets the buyer be the judge of what's a good name.

I guess no care should be given to people who can't spare a minute to read rules before submitting their domains:

DomainLore Auctions
.. Read first paragraph on what (and how) domains can be listed.

But I have some great news for those complaining. New listing category is coming where all your domain names will be accepted, including the likes of i-have-regged-this-today-for-a-quick-sale.co.uk, but you'll be charged when your auction received no bids and/or domain did not sell.

Classified Rating: 0% (-1)

On the sedo note...

Could it be the Sedo black hole...some have suggested that all emails sent never escape and that all matter is attracted including emails - Or the automaton that responds to email...

There is a random number generator set to allow 0.0001% of names on average to a human. The rest are sent to an automaton which carefully reads all input before sending a formatted email back saying no! for the 0.0001% of names the human types it into a computer and "The computer says NO!", unless you know someone who knows someone who knows someone on the payroll.

That's a very interesting and brutal business model, but I think you're trying to have your cake and eat it

The i-have-regged-this-today-for-a-quick-sale.co.uk crew won't bother posting any high churn £25/£50 names through fear of not getting a bid - it seems like your enjoying penalising them just because its not a pre-nom, one word generic drop that suits your taste. At the end of the day why not just take a commission as usual and open up the market to these pipsqueaks?

Or it makes people think twice, not only about quality of name but reserve prices as well

I'd disagree with that, there is already sedo for stuff like that and after a while I give up looking through sedo. Infact I look on DL to see what is going on at Sedo.

I like DL as it's straight to the point and bargains to be had. I'm not commenting on any individual names as that is between others and all people I get on with.

But I bet we only see a fraction of the names he turns down, when I was running DomainPawn all I got was i-have-regged-this-today-for-a-quick-pawn.co.uk

I had to shut it down for the amount of time it was taking to go through them all and discuss why I wasn't taking some on, then lose some good business friends on it.

I did get some good names but in all you would get 1 good name for every 100 reg fee ones. So i hope people understand it from Deny's point of view as well.
