Why do you want to risk your email with google?
Sure they are cheap, and the webmail is good.
The spam filtering is ok (but a high false positive which is no good for business), but the fact you are giving one of your business critical communication tools to an unsupported (in any real sense) platform and allowing your emails to be spidered by G would never allow me to use them.

Dont forget they have also had more than one go at deleting users email and not being able to restore it.

I have all my emails set up as POP accounts and added to a main Google Mail (messages are set to delete from hosting server once received by Google).

Filters and labels can be set up which make it extremely easy to manage all accounts from one place. Used Gmail services since 2004 and has always worked perfectly for me

I use Google Apps for my business email, works a charm and I'm not scared, they're bigger and more secure than I'll ever be.

I have a forwarder on all my email to gmail, and download to my laptop and file server, a 14 day history is kept on the server too.

So 3 copies and 14 Day Backup at any given time
