Hi,

Thier web site doesn't give much away about the company and they do not appear to be listed as a Limited Company at Companies House. This would help to gauge how deep their pockets might be.

Best bet would be to call them and sound them out on pricing. There are quite a few "supplement" domains on Sedo but none with pricing.

If you want to make a quick cash in on your registration then ask for �500 and see what they offer.

If you are prepared to scare them off and keep the domain then ask for �1,000 and see what the response is. We see proteinpowder.com is for sale for $2,000 so you are unlikely to get more than �1k.

How did they find the domain for sale?

Before you posted it though I sent them a reply asking for �1k

Maybe they want the .co.uk version?
And maybe they prefer the plural (powders).

Either way I'll let you know if I get a response.
Is there a safe way to sell other than Sedo and the 10% fee?

well we were on the right lines.

Look on Google for Escrow services, this is a 3rd party service where they control the fee transfer and domain control hand over.

Hi

Just because they are not Ltd doesnt mean they dont have a high turnover

i can name a local firm round here that nets over �1m and isnt Ltd

You are right no it doesn't Lee but a Limited Company is an indication that you are dealing with a Company and not an Individual. If they live round the corner then obviously you will be able to check them out easily

but that isn't going to be the case usually.

If they just have a web site you can't tell anything.

Oh, You asked how they found the domain, Admin.
Sorry, I missed that.
I forward all my domains to my site www.MyDomainNames.co.uk where I leave my contact details.
(Not all are listed here btw)

The WhoIS database with Nominet doesn't show anything but he obviously browsed to and got my contact details.

You'd be amazed the amount of decent names taken that go nowhere and have no contact details for the domain either!
