Company called Gold Search Ltd, using GoogleListing.co.uk as a website name. Surely this is a TM? Seemingly Google know what they are going and are happy for them to proceed! Nominet brings up Carl Walsh as domain registrant. 1 Carpenters Court South Street Alderley Edge Cheshire SK9 7ES United Kingdom

Lol - I also saw on page 1 for 'search engine optimisation' someone is using mrgoogle.co.uk Kudos for getting to page one though, but shame if it gets stripped from you after all that hard work Last edited by Nick; 18-11-2010 at 12:16:04 PM. Reason: he's now on page 2 |

There are dozens of them around the UK, the manchester Evening News and Salford Advertiser gives them giant adverts in their jobs section, they even use the google colours as well as the name. I'm sure a quick call to google and the MEN would get them to stop. |

I get a few calls a week from companies that make out there from Google trying to sell guaranteed position 1 listings, links and seo services and most of the sales people don't even know what seo means!

There is zero chance google allowed them to use that domain name - if they said that, they are lying. I would be wary of hiring them, as when Google take their domain off them they have no business left, so they might just shut up shop and leave their customers all stuck and out of cash. From the owners point of view, its crazy to build on that site. It took me 2 years to rank top for that search phrase (outside of Wiki) and the thought of doing it on a domain you have zero chance of defending in a legal action is horrendous! |
