Biased article against exact match domains

But the article also doesnt really mention any of the positive aspects of an exact domain...he just snipes.

I do get what the author is saying but he's not put it at all well.

You normally find seomoz to be well balanced...but this article clearly lacks some thought.

SEOMOZ is a commercial entity selling a product.

The point of YOUmoz is to allow SEOs to have a voice who may not have one on their own site/blog. Many well-known SEOs have started their careers as YOUmoz writers and have moved on to become "famous" in their own right.

That says it all really IMHO

But Google can't change it, the minute people start typing in Asda and it comes up with Tescos.co.uk because they have better SEO guys then people will start going to other search providers.

Obviously a national provider, but on a local level of small businesses that don't have seo guys. There would be wrong sites coming up left right and centre because better SEO teams.

People will just leave Google, so nothing Google can do about it even if they wanted to. If they could imo they already would have.

I remember when I heard Cutts say they were looking into it at pubcon I felt a little nervous. However on reflection, I think that it's extremely difficult algorithmically to sort between the anchor text of a brand and an exact match.

I do understand the authors frustration - when you keep getting outranked, but I think he's missed the point. If you can't beat em', join em'.
