Last night we went to see The Blanks, the a cappella band from Scrubs (also known as Ted’s band/The Useless Peons), at The Jam House in Edinburgh. We had never been before so didn’t know what the venue was like, but knew they served food to tables on the balcony overlooking the stage. We booked several weeks ago and when we arrived we realised that the balcony also housed the VIP lounge and bar. We had the best table, right in the centre, and the food quality was fantastic. We were expecting a standard bar menu, but it was far from a standard bar menu; I had quail and fillet of beef cooked just how I like it.
After the performance things got even better, we went to the VIP lounge and spent 2 hours chatting and drinking with the band. There were about 15 of us in there in total so nice and relaxed for an actual conversation rather than lots of people crowding round. I spent most of the time talking to Paul and Sam (Ted), but all were really nice to talk to. The guys were down to earth and really friendly. They gave us the prop CDs they used on stage and signed them and when we left they even remembered our names. We didn’t want to take too many photos as they had just spent the last hour seeing fans, but Scrubs fans would appreciate the following photo:
