Love the FBI notices on the home pages now that the domain names have been confiscated.

So much for the "land of the free".

It will be very interesting to see how this develops.

Haven't seen any of the FBI notices yet DNS updates must not have hit for virgin media yet.
A statement from pokerstars though say its business as usual for all no US customers and they will be moving to the .eu domain
Hopefully this can have a positive affect on the value of .eu domains in general

i actually updated screenshots of the pages with fbi notices yesterday lol at domaintools so they are on the record

it is totally farcical though, fair enough if they have been evading billions or millions in tax then authorities have a right to act , wish we'd arrrest the major tax evasion people here. we don't do that in the UK, but if a single mum depserate for food nicks some tins of baby food you can be sure plod are called down

but the whole thing about not playing online gambling in the states is ludicrous. its just all the kickbacks and backhanders and bribes the bush regime got to protect the offline gambing networks and major casinos. they wouldf die otherwise

sickening really obama hasn't repealed that act

but then they will allow people to run hardcore porn sites and sell machine guns and pistols etc online lol but not gamble

i actually think one upshot like above said is cctld gambling domains may well increase in value
or they have to figure a way to block all ip's from the U.S

It's a ridiculous situation. From the moment this piece of legislation was tacked on the end of a bill relating to port security (i think), it's been a farce. Apparently it's fine for them to take this attitude with companies like this, but if banks swindle people and avoid taxes that's perfectly reasonable and they are rewarded for their actions.

An example as to why the US govenment will never want to relinquish complete control of ICANN and a glaring example as to why we need an equivalent to ICANN that will not reside on USA shores.

Agreed if they have been bad in the US, the authorities have the right to prosecute and should but i don't think this includes disabling a dot.com for a business that trades globally. The USA is only one part of the operation. This is an Isle Of Man company, the domain name is registered to an Isle Of Man address. It is only because the US govenment still have their tentacles within ICANN they have managed to do what they have done.

I wonder if they will be petitioning the Isle Of Man government to have their license revoked.
