I think it goes to show what can still be done with a good mind for the right domains at the right time starting off with next to nothing. Fair play to him.

Great article. It provides some great insight into all that is wrong with the domain business. All the big boys weighing on on what an inspiration this guy is. For what? Registering and trading off of a bunch of trademarks and then washing the money made by buying generics. Yet the guy is praised. Totally epitomizes the sick and slimy world of domaining

The commenters are right. There's nothing to celebrate here, if you take the domain name industry seriously.

Great story of a CyberSquatter living a life of Riley whilst profiteering at the cost of trademark holders.

Everything that is wrong with this industry and then some. Reads like a meglomaniacs diary.

I wonder what stories there are not being told? It would be interesting to here how many TM domains have been the subject of legal letters.

I'd mostly read the second half after skipping past the middle part so it isn't quite what i thought.

Agree with the comments and Edwin- it's stories like these that hurt the name of the domaining industry (as a gross generalisation) and give newcomers the wrong idea. I made some bad TM judgements when I first started, but even now, whichever way I explain to my non-web mates what I do, they reckon it should be illegal because of all of the high profile cybersquatting cases!
