I promote exclusively to the UK market with UK merchants. I'm being sent "black friday" offers from UK merchants for UK customers...

WTF?

Stick your "black friday" stuff somewhere else..

Or is this just another American invasion without the missiles?

The only black friday I ever heard of growing up in the UK was in a Robinson Crusoe novel.

It's the equivalent of the UK's Boxing Day Sales... Where you could wait outside Curry's at 5am and get stuff cheap.

Here in the US they call those deals 'Doorbusters' because literally people bust through the doors, trample over each other (sometimes there's a death or two), but you can get stuff very cheap or free (after mail in rebates).

It's called Black Friday because it's this time of the year that retailers enter the black (from the red) in their accounts - meaning they're starting to make a profit in the period from now until the end of the year.
