i know we never know what goes through peoples minds or in their lives but in the big scheme of things he had led a very priveleged life

We don't know what goes one in someones mind, you can be living the perfect life in the view of other people but sometimes your not...

I thought I'd weigh in with my own scaled down view of mental health. I'm not talking about Gary Speed here as I, along with the rest of you I suspect, don't yet know the full facts of the situation.

......... I have suffered from a variety of mental health disorders over the past 12 years and I can honestly say that when you're in a dark, dark place, you may not actually realise that you are ill or that your actions are questionable. Further to that, the possessions, privileges and cash you have mean diddly-squat when you are truly mentally unwell. For this reason alone (in my considered opinion), a persons celebrity status should not be cited as a reason to just snap out of it. After all, our brains are by and large just a finely tuned bag of chemicals. In terms we'd all be familiar with I'd suggest that these brain chemicals could be described as the software that runs our lives. Any number of things can alter this chemistry and possibly lead to some kind of software failure.

I'm no computer whizz (there, I said it!) but I'd find it much easier to repair a computer with corrupt software than a human with a malfunctioning brain.

I never made any accusations just linked to a Channel 4 programme in 1997 which referenced Gary Speed in response to people on here asking how someone with his wealth and success could be depressed.

With what has happened recently regarding the latest suicides at least Gary didn't take any of his family with him. I hope the media can just let it go though and don't start publishing these types of accusations. What's done is done and for his families sake regardless of what made him do it, I hope they let them have some peace.
