I am using both on different devices, ForumRunner on the iPad which is easy to use and responds really fast. After you install the app, and search within it for acorn, what error do you get? Maybe send me a pic?

I can scroll but inside the window but you have to be very precise with your finger placement or as you say the whole page scrolls. Try changing the theme to "iPhone style" - see bottom left of footer for theme changer - it may help.

Just sussed it. It doesn't like my Chinese IP. Works fine on my VPN. this posted using ForumRunner.

Cool. I have blocked quite a few country level ip ranges on the new server, to keep away spammers from countries that are unlikely to bring any valid members to the site. Whilst I have good anti-spam measures to stop them creating accounts, I still get lots of additional hits from them trying as Acorn is know as a do-follow enabled forum.
