![]() | Change registrant ownership online
Do you think Nominet will ever bring out an online change Registrant Ownership facility because they are only one step away from it with their Registrant Confirmation webpage, all they have to do is to integrate some means of payment and there you go - no more phoning them up and waiting for forms to arrive, and typing out confirmation letters, etc. Especially when you consider how easy it is to transfer a .com We always seem to do things the long way in this country. |

I went to one of the Nominet member lunches last year and asked about this... It's certainly "coming", but I don't think it's going to happen in the very near future. I think the plan is to introduce an automated online transfer system through Registrants Online, which will effectively be at zero cost. The existing £30 system will stay in place for domain owners that don't have the Registrants Online codes. |

OK Nominet have got back to me and confirmed that it is definitely planned to allow transfers online. They can't give any timescales however. Nor did they comment on my assertion that the online process might be free of charge. My interpretation is that we'll be lucky to see it implemented in 2005... |
