Question Laptop make/model recommendation request

Time to upgrade this HP laptop I've had for a few years now with something a bit quicker for general work/domestic use.

Never had any problems with it, so can't really fault the brand, but always open to trying something new (not wanting a MacBook though).

For a budget of around £1500, I'm currently looking at the folowing ranges which all have relatively similar specifications:

- Dell XPS 17
- HP Envy 17
- Sony Vaio F Series

Open to any other suggestions so would appreciate good makes, models and deals anyone has seen and/or experienced (including opinions on the above).

Cheers!

Dell has been reliable for me.

Lenovo and possibly Samsung worth looking at, but my preference would be Dell.

When I last looked at Sony, they seemed to add a lot of bloatware on their laptops, but this might have changed. In general I'm not that keen on Sony as their products always seem a bit over complicated and not that user friendly.

Rgds

Just got a dell xps 15z for £700. Very good value, top rated at tech radar.

stellar73 is on a distinguished road

Lots of good deals on Lenovo at the moment - from a design point of view their G570 (avail in diff specs i3 and i5) is really sturdy and quite classy looking with a metal palmrest - got one a few weeks ago, feels a lot more expensive than the £350 I paid for it

I have just been selling several hundred open boxed laptops over the last few months and one stood out by far, so I just had to keep it for me - a Samsung 9 Series. Must be the best and most sexy laptop I have ever seen.

Not cheap but what a laptop, I have had several Macbook airs pass through and they are not a patch on the Samsung.

I can strongly recommend this if you can cope with a 13.3" screen
