OK so I have managed to setup Wordpress on a Windows server I share and it seems to work fine.
Now this isn't my normal route of building pages but I wanted to diversify (if possible) so wanted to see what I could do.
Now is there a way to create commercial websites in wordpress rather than "blog" sites?

I just want to create an online shop that is pretty much static pages with an order form etc. I like how wordpress sites look so thought I'd experiment.
I'm not interested in the blog element (i.e. allowing users to leave comments) - well not yet anyway.

Does anyone know if there is a "wordpress for dummies ebook" available for download?

What wordpress sites have you created?

Not seen an e book or For dummies book for Wordpress.

Latest ones to be done or to be done.

Dale Timber Still needs images and content

CJ Property Services just going to chop up stage, but will be in WP click image to see all pages.

I have posted a few others before on here but their our latest ones.

Do you chop up in Photoshop?
Did you download a theme for those above or just built from scratch?

Designs from scratch (do about 2 or 3 for the client to choose from) in Fire Works and chopped up in dream Weaver.

So not themes bespoke designs. ;)

    Wordpress the next Joomla

If Joomla/mambo wasnt so hard to unpack properly we would all be using it hence wordpress I guess!

Gold digger very nice layout you should be a graphic designer.

I design in fireworks and then send out to a team in Bulgaria to code costs about a £100 a site I charge clients about £xxx to £xxxx and the only probs Ive had are when client/coder try and design stuff themselves.

http://www.maddogs.co.uk - Pretty Basic Wordpress setup

    http://www.fallowfen.com - Joomla setup

I prefer wordpress, the templates are a lot easier to change \ amend etc. I still haven't completly grasped the News\newsflash\module\static\menus\mambots\modules of Joomla yet!

    Wordpress Site

I started with wordpress last year and couldn't get it to deliver how I wanted.Having spent ages looking at other options including looking at learning CSS I decided to go back to Wordpress. I tried with with something simple to get used to it and the plug ins etc and now feel much more confident with it. If I have enough time will look at developing some of my other domains. My first site is in my signature
