I have the domains; eventsaccommodation.co.uk and event-accommodation.co.uk that I wish to be developed into a site for exactly that, accommodation for events in the UK.
There are already sites offering this sort of thing, but the potential is massive and the demand is high for available properties, so much so that some accommodation can cost upwards of £3500 per NIGHT. Even a 1% share of this (potential comission charge) is £35 per night per property (being rented at £3500). (I think other sites may well offer a standard ad charge - this would obviously need to be looked at)..but the potential is there.

I would be interested in a working partnership with a developer(/domainer) to bring this idea to reality. I would also be interested in peoples views regarding this idea, ie; maybe just try selling the names to the existing businesses, etc.

Send me a PM or post your views/interest/critisism here!

    events management

Hi, I've recently started domain parking, but by trade I am a graphic designer and I'm collaborating on a pitch at the moment with a company called forcefed media (website of the same name) who specialise in events management, and web design coincidentally, if this sounds like it might be useful conatct me, or them and see what we can work out.
    regards,

You need to forget this idea and move on as soon as possible.

Any development, running and especially promotion costs associated with this type of business, makes the potential ROI a negative from beginning to end.

The only way this could ever pay, would be to put a simple classifieds script on a site and use ads or small fee's for revenue streams. This would cost you nothing to do, so no risk.

Unless the developer is taking a cut of comission, running is mostly automated, and promotion is via 'free' SEO etc.

However, the market is competitive and I would not even play with the idea of getting into it without some good connections in the industry.

Anything is possible, and if you can come up with a USP and reason for people to use you then go for it. But your first mistake is probably looking at such high rental numbers which only exist in certain circumstances... of which those bookings will be done via phone by a PA or similar with such large amounts to ensure that quality is met etc.

Good luck, but rather you than me ;)

    Thanks for your input..

Thanks guys, I understood there would be a lot of work and expense involved, but your views are much welcome.

I still believe there is a good opportunity there, so all I will do for the time being is sit on the names as I have many other projects to conclude.
