Has anyone here blatantly pointed people towards Adsense adverts in the sidebar on a mini site? Do some content but then add a graphic like this.

Can Google catch on and ban you?

I guess if people report you(eg. adword customers) or randomly checked by Google Random Checkers(I swear they are random) I don't belive their monthy e-mail saying they checked on my websites and traffic and it was ok. It's random!

it you're lucky you will get away, there are no script that can detect it for sure. And yes if Google catch you they will suspense ads on that site, might not suspense your account.

Hmm ok thanks....I might just test it for a week to see the results.

I wanted to convert for example ...8,000+ visits, 700+ clicks and $150.00
    +
a month to a little bit better than a mere 3.9% CTR from 1 of my mini sites.

it's definitely against the terms and conditions, so i'm not sure it's a good thing to do, regardless of whether you get caught or not

    Fair point.

Trying it for a few hours with a row of them pointing to the side bar of Adsense and it definetly works!

I have now in $'s what I normally would have at 8am tom morning. So i'd guess it at least doubles revenue up for me.

Pity as all your doing is helping visitors finding what there looking for :D

Is it worth the risk? For me NO not as an ongoing thing, just a test.

    Added

I guess it was annoying seeing 1000's of visitors not been converted and to try a few things to see what happened. And i'm guessing it will only show working on sites with high volume visitors and with a low CTR

i've not tried this, but have you thought of replacing the red arrow with a background colour effect?

ie, a visual effect that draws the eye towards the ads, rather than a blatant <-- LOOK HERE!

Well anything that helps within the rules should be done.

I just wanted to prove to myself visitors can be converted and will be trying other methods.

Could try an off white version ;) watermark almost

We blend the ads into the text using css floats. Works well. I think to separate the ads out doesn't work. I did a lot of mutivariate testing.

Also you shouldn't talk about Google stats. You can only declare your income. By telling people the number of clicks (and hence ecpm) you are in breach.

Others i've seen are for free software or drivers and you really have to scan passed ads to get the true link.

Thus lots of Google clicks :D
