This is hilarious! I wonder if it's his real email address.

We really should start a lowballers thread. I had one guy that actually has a pretty big student site coming after one of my names. He started off by telling me how he doesn't really like my name and it isn't much good so he'll offer me £200 (I think). After I replied 'no' and asked him some questions he didn't like being asked questions so he reduced his offer to £100.

I replied letting him know that he's childish and I'm not selling him anything, he replied telling me I 'need to work on my negotiation skills' and that his offer has now been reduced to £50! (this was for a name I'd had a few mid xxxx offers for at the time)

Funny thing with him was that he signed off with his real name and was using a traceable email address right back to his website. I really feel like naming and shaming this guy...

I'd love to have the email if you had accepted his bid,

"I do not like the speed and the way you accepted my bid, so I'm reducing it to £25."

    :)

I think we could have some fun at this though, just sending people some wind up offers. You never know, someone might accept.

It would be funny to, but I wont. For now anyway. I think that people become more successful if they have a friendlier attitude. But like I said - this guy had a terrible attitude and a pretty popular website.

I can definitely see why people name and shame and post the email addresses etc. If not to just embarrass them.

Is it someone from this board?

I have an idea who it would most probably be if it was, in fact I will put 50p on it.

    Here's a funny offer I received:

    Domain: q2.co.uk
    Offer: GBP 10
    Name: Andrew Quix***
    E-mail: andrewq****@hotmail.com
    Phone: +44 7767 884***
    IP: 84.92.53.176
Comment: Please contact me - thanks.

So, I contact the guy and explained that £10 was too low for a rare 2 letter .co.uk domain and I asked him to make me a sensible offer - I provided a link to the domain sales page so that he could get an idea of the market prices.

    His reponse was:

    Dear Colin,

I've bought a different name. By the way, I paid £9.40, which saved me
60p on the price I offered you.

    Kind regards,

    Andrew

That's hilarious. The trouble with naming and shaming is that we could probably all be shamed to a certain extent with some of our offers for domains. I know I could.

But there's a difference between being cheap and being rude

The guy in my story isn't from Acorn. At least I don't think so. Though some of the silly bids that come through sedo are probably from some of you wackos :)

I just usually counter and then bang on my keyboard across the numbers and say 'final offer'. Don't think they'd pay £3,676,788 though!

Perhaps you coud start selling your children into forced labour. You could offer a child along with a domain, haha! Or a kidney...

Its amazing how cheeky some people get. Amateurs!
