Yep. Took me about an hour to wash up and wipe down the surfaces in the kitchen :-(

This heat sure is an energy sapper.

My computer table is by the window, the sun passes overhead to the other side of the building at about 11:30am, the wind is blowing towards me and the last couple of days it has been freezing, actually had to close the windows and put the heating on, yet the bedroom at the back of the building is like a sauna.

One thing that's annoying me is the moisture in the air, I live on the seafront, it's pretty misty here (Hastings/St Leonards) and my mouse keeps juddering across my mousemat, which feels tacky from the moisture coming off the sea.

Get one of those portable aircon units. I'm freezing in my home office!! I have to go out the room to warm up every now and then.

I'm in Exeter - well 4 miles away.. Hasn't rained for yonks - just a pervasive mugginess. Today I was summoned for grocery shopping driving duty. Pissed down while I was out - got completely soaked and looked a right prat in shorts and t-shirt. Get home; rain stops, and the humidity is shocking.

I work with some people in Houston, Texas. They ask me about the weather and I tell them it's boiling. They ask the temperature, I tell them, then they laugh and say it doesn't even get that low at night time!

It's fine for them with their air-con, we have a couple of fans and are boiling!

Indeed so. Air-con is the key. I spend a lot of time in Asia in 35-degree heat but you can be sure that every room has air-con -- 4HP in the living room which makes you freeze... How about Riyadh? I spent some time there working and it was 45C. That's so hot that you don't realise it other than the fact that you need a pint of water for every 100 yards you walk, otherwise you die.

It’s the humidity that gets me, I’m loving the weather, but it’s just so sticky. I can’t complain though, this is probably all we’ll have for the next 3 years so I’m making the most of it. Off later for a bike ride around Rutland Water followed by a BBQ :D

I wouldn't say that it is part of Leicestershire if you ever come here :p most of the locals are very proud of Rutland, lol. It is nice, I don't know about in this heat, but my record is 2 and a half laps, mainly because there is a pub about half way around ;)

I know, so was I, I just meant that so many people here are go out of their way to proclaim themselves as ‘Rutlanders’. I’m not too fussed myself, but one of my neighbours campaigned to try to try to make Rutland independent when it became Leicestershire. Quite often when I see her she manages to move the conversation to complaining that we have a Leicestershire post code which is why I made the point. Anyway, the way things are going we will be out of money very soon. I think the council lost £200k through bad investments this year, looks like the postcode will stay! I’m off now for a lap, wish me luck as it has cooled down to 25 degrees here!
