I'm using Crate (www.belongsoftware.com) to manage my domain portfoilo. Anybody else using this, or something better?

Spammers are so stupid, signing up with their personal email address that has the same registrant name as the site they are spamming, nice move

Yeah, and then he creeps back in to delete his post so it doesn't get indexed, shame about the back button for me to quote it for him :p

It is quite a weird approach, considering it is not off topic, he could of just made a post promoting his software.

I know, that's what makes it even more stupid, had he made a normal post saying this is my site etc, would have been no problem, but to ask if anyone uses this (his) site or know any better ones, mental.

This is New labour for you, we have even seen a steep decline in the class of idiots.

We used to have a much better standard of spamming, can't even get that right now.

This country is going to pot. :(

    Feedback

    Hi All

    Thanks for your feedback.

I agree that the approach was slightly naive. Once the first guy replied I guessed that by having my post listed it may cause offense so I looked for someway of deleting it - which it seems I can't do. So I thought the next best thing would be to edit the post, I wasn't thinking about it indexed until one of the next posts mentioned it.
I would like to say that I think its a bit over zealous calling one post spam, but if thats you take on it - fair enough.

I have put the original post back as it was.

    Dave

I think a good definition of spam is as follows:

'indiscriminately send unsolicited, unwanted, irrelevant, or inappropriate messages, especially commercial advertising in mass quantities.'

My post wasn't email based, wasn't in mass quantity, wasn't rude or offensive or off topic.

I would say it was commercial & inappropriate , however if you are looking for definitions try try Forum spam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Perhaps buy an advert?

    Feedback

    Thanks again for the feedback.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the reason why I removed the post was to prevent any further offense.

I have read through the link you posted and I fail to see which of the definitions my post falls in. The first one talks about commercial postings which relate to a highly competitive market. As pointed out in a different post with-in this forum by someone promoting their version of this type of software (oDNS) there is no other software operating in this space. The second talks about unrelated links, mine as one of your admins points out, is on topic. The third is by placing links in the signature, mine wasn't. And the fourth is about redirects to pornographic sites, again mine wasn't.

But beyond all this I admit it was a naive thing to do, and a mistake I won't be making again in the future.

    Thanks again,

    Dave.

Ok put it another way, if the 'approach was slightly naive' , what was the aim/approach of your post?
