if a cash machine was to give out double what you wanted, what are the chances of the bank asking you for it back?

I'd say quite good if the ATM has a camera and the error was logged.

It's theft anyway, why fuck yourself over for £10 or £20?

Looks like you can't really tell what will happen, however I imagine it wouldn't be worth the risk :).

Yes because banks are whiter than white.....with the rates of complaints against the banking sector gone through the ceiling i would....

considering they owe us £8k per household due to the notorious "sub-prime market" scandal i would wait until it's bled dry

It happens more often than is reported, usually it is down to someone loading the £20 notes into the £10 tray.

I remember one of the Coventry building societies machines was giving away free money a few years back, if I remember correctly I think you could just put any card in and it would pay what you asked up to a certain limit without it even taking the money from your account or so the story went, apparently there was a que a mile long and people were going back time and time again, hang on I will Google it for you, here we are http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/824057/posts it was quite the local story at the time, anyway they soon clocked on and the police got involved and quite a few people did do time. Totally mental though if it weren’t for it been in the papers and on the local news you would think it was an urban myth.
