With the popularity of the 'what was your last regged domain' thread, thought I'd start a thread asking what everyone's first regged domain was.

Mine was TheStudentOffice.com back in Nov 2008. Was going to start a website targeted at students but didn't get past writing copy for the homepage then abandoned it.

I've just checked, and I was obviously hit by the bug badly. On 12 August 1999 I registered 50 domains! 48 of which I still have. I have no idea which one was first, but some of them include FishRestaurant, CommodityBroker, MeetingRooms, AntiVirusSoftware, PropertyDeveloper etc etc.

I registered 3 more about a week later and then nothing for over 6 months. Looking back, I think I did OK for a compete novice, but can't help thinking that maybe I could have done better - I totally missed product domains for a start.

Hi, some.... I lent them out to one outfit who ran a a stag & hennight site. They sold that site on and the new owner wanted to buy my names but they couldn't go high enough. (I've just had a look at their site and they seem to be doing well - good for them.)

AQLS gave me some good advice about these a few years ago. Didn't do anything after that (because of life getting in the way), but I should aim to get some regular income out them. (I've also got the .co.uk)

Now, where's my 'to do' list?

    Cool

    Nice names ;)

I looked at domains in 2000 but ended up not regging any (damn it)

Looked again in 2005 and regged as my first wecanbuildit;co;uk to sell builders and didn't even bother trying to sell, my best back then was supercasinobet;com which I allowed to expire.

Ah, I think it cost about £40 to reg each one back then (I used an outfit called thename.co.uk) - I couldn't find cheaper though getting a tag, if I'd known about them, may have been cheaper. So I had a long list but didn't reg that many. However, the few I did reg were okay, except for I am exceptionally bone idle and done bugger all with them...

What really hacks me off about myself was that in 1992 I heard about ja.net and didn't twig about what was on it's way. Oh, well...

    (not so) Lucky Luke
