    Hi Guys,

I am looking for a new template to be created for a website for my local town, it needs to be able to advertise local businesses and services and things going on in my town etc.

Please pm for more details; paypal payment waiting to be sent.

Yes I know what you mean, it's tough to find something that is appealing.

I was in the same boat not long back for a geo that I wanted to develop for a local town. I had a good look about and took note from lots of different sites. The most frustarting thing about direcetories is the search bar when you keep getting no results, irrelevant information or no matches.

I decided in the end to create my own directory where I can add to it easily and people will be able to find anything they like within just 3 simple clicks.

If you have a bit of website knowledge you will be able to come up with a nice template that works for you.

This is what I have come up with for mine, still work in process with lisitings but have loads in the pipeline.

    Good luck with your directory

    Regards

    Hi Mally

Many thanks for your kind comments.

No the site is created using a company called create, I have used them for all my webistes for the simple reason I know the editor inside out and I can build sites very that reason quite easily.

The whole layout is my own design and ideas, however I have had lots of different people testing the site for me, to check on navigation and making sure it is user freindly to use.

I do other directories planned and after many postive comments about the look, simplicity and feel of my site, I can see this particular template I have designed being used lots for my other directories in the future.

    Thanks again

    Regards

    Gav

Just had a quick look at Glasgow.com and none of the menu links / navigation work in Firefox - keep getting 404s
